Most of the women I work with are incredibly capable.

They’re the planners, the rememberers, the problem-solvers, and the ones everyone depends on. From the outside, they look like they have it all together.

Inside, they’re exhausted.

They’re snapping more than they want to. Their relationship feels different than it used to. They can’t remember the last time they truly relaxed, and somewhere along the way, they’ve started wondering if this is simply what adulthood—or motherhood—is supposed to feel like.

I don’t think it has to be.

I don’t think women need another person telling them to take a bubble bath. I think they need someone willing to ask why they feel responsible for everyone in the first place.

Don’t get me wrong—self-care matters. A massage, a girls’ night, or a quiet evening alone can be wonderful. But if your brain still believes it’s responsible for everyone else’s happiness, schedules, emotions, and needs, no amount of self-care is going to feel like enough.

That’s the work I love doing.

My Approach

I’m a therapist, a mom, a yoga instructor, a business owner, and someone who has spent plenty of time trying to hold everything together myself. I know what it’s like to believe that being responsible means doing it all. I also know what happens when we confuse being needed with being healthy.

Meet Molly Schroeder, LMHC, Therapist in Carnation

That experience doesn’t make me an expert on your life. You are.

My job isn’t to tell you what to do.

It’s to ask better questions, notice patterns you can’t see from inside them, and occasionally point out the thing you’ve been avoiding with kindness…and maybe a little humor.

I don’t believe therapy should feel cold or clinical.

I also don’t believe change happens through shame. Most of us already criticize ourselves far more than any therapist ever could.

Instead, I believe lasting change begins when we understand why we do what we do. Once you understand the pattern, you finally have the freedom to decide whether you want to keep it. Because the goal isn’t to help you do more.

It’s to help you carry less.

What Therapy With Me Is Like

Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and conversational.

I’ll ask questions, notice patterns, and gently challenge beliefs that no longer serve you. Sometimes you’ll leave with something practical to try. Other times, you’ll simply leave seeing yourself—and your life—from a completely different perspective.

My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), relational therapy, mindfulness, and attachment-based principles. I don’t believe people fit neatly into one therapeutic model, so I tailor therapy to fit the person sitting across from me—not the other way around.

A Little More About Me

Outside the therapy office you’ll probably find me practicing yoga, reading tarot cards for fun, chasing my goats out of the garden, or recording a classic rock podcast with my family.

Life is messy. Mine included.

Maybe that’s one of the reasons I love this work so much.

None of us are trying to become perfect. We’re just trying to feel a little more like ourselves again.

I know reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating. If you’ve read this far, I hope one thing is already clear: you don’t have to carry it all by yourself anymore.
